We help build world-class teams - from the inside

Optiveum was founded in 2020 by Marek Wróbel and Tomasz Polikowski, drawing on more than 20 years of combined experience inside global recruitment structures. We left the scale of large firms to build something closer to the people we work with.

After many years in large global firms, we wanted to create something more personal - a boutique IT industry consultancy where experience meets trust and every partnership has a human face. - Marek & Tomek, Founders

The Strong Shekel: Why Israeli Companies Are Looking to Central Europe for Developers

When we began expanding Optiveum's services into the Israeli market, the conversation with our clients was almost entirely about skills the shortage of specific seniorities, the difficulty of filling AI and DevOps roles, the long wartime reserve-duty absences that have disrupted delivery timelines. That conversation hasn't gone away. But over the past few months a second argument has quietly moved to the centre of the table, and it has nothing to do with who is or isn't available on the local market.

The Video Codec Job Market in 2026: What a Global R&D Hiring Push Reveals About the Industry’s Next Chapter

The global video codec market is at a genuine inflection point. Bandwidth consumption continues to grow - driven by 4K and 8K streaming, cloud gaming, virtual reality, and the relentless expansion of mobile video - yet the underlying compression technologies that make this media deliverable are evolving more slowly, and more contentiously, than most observers expected.

What makes a good IT recruitment agency in Poland?

faq-accordion
basic-content

Why choose a founder-led, boutique agency over a large corporate recruiter?

There is a persistent assumption that a bigger recruitment agency is a safer choice – more recruiters, a larger database, a longer client list. In specialist IT hiring, that assumption often works against the client, and it is worth explaining why.

Large corporate agencies are typically built around ambitious individual targets, KPIs, and commission structures. Recruiters are measured on the number of placements they make, which creates pressure toward volume rather than fit. The industry’s own commentators describe the predictable result: candidates presented quickly to hit a quota, a “human touch” that gets lost at scale, and clients who find themselves passed between junior consultants as staff turn over. When a recruiter is juggling dozens of open roles, even a well-intentioned one cannot give any single search real attention.

A founder-led boutique works on a different economic model. Because we specialise, our recruiters understand the technologies and the market in depth – and specialist knowledge consistently outperforms a generalist approach when the role is technical or senior. Because the founders run the searches themselves, clients deal with the same senior people from the first briefing to the final offer, which means clearer communication, faster feedback, and no risk of being “lost in the shuffle.” And because we are not tied to the KPIs or revenue targets that our colleagues in large corporations must meet, we can prioritise quality over quantity – presenting a short, relevant shortlist rather than a long, padded one.

This is also why we would genuinely rather decline a recruitment project than accept it and fail on delivery. A large agency rarely turns work away; a boutique that depends on its reputation cannot afford to take on a search it does not believe it can fill well. It is a structural difference, not a marketing claim – and it is one of the clearest reasons a specialist boutique tends to produce a better long-term outcome than a big-box firm hiring largely at junior level.

The short version: Big agencies optimise for placement volume; boutiques optimise for fit. For mid- and senior-level IT roles, where a single mis-hire is expensive, the boutique model’s emphasis on senior attention, specialist knowledge, and a curated shortlist is usually the more economical choice – even before you factor in the time saved.
