Fasano sits on Avenida Vieira Souto, the beachfront avenue that runs the length of Ipanema, but the building itself is set back just enough that you get the view without the noise of the strip below. Copacabana is a fifteen-minute taxi ride; Leblon, with its better restaurants, is a fifteen-minute walk. You don’t need to plan around the hotel’s location — everything else in this part of Rio plans around it.

Why We Keep Coming Back
Rio has no shortage of glossy hotels along the beachfront, and most of them feel interchangeable once you’re past the lobby. Fasano doesn’t. The rooms are quieter than the address suggests, the staff remembers your name by the second morning, and the rooftop bar is one of the few places in the city where you can watch the sun go down over Ipanema without fighting a crowd for the rail.
