"We hired Optiveum to start a new tech team from scratch — their network and understanding of the Polish market meant we had qualified candidates in front of us within two weeks." — Mattias Hamberg, Head of Product, Magma Math
The Challenge
Magma Math, a Stockholm-based EdTech company behind a K–12 digital math platform, needed to grow its engineering capacity fast — but without adding headcount in an already-tight Stockholm market. The plan was to open a new engineering hub in Warsaw: hire developers, get compliant employment contracts in place, and set up the legal and accounting structure needed to operate in Poland. Magma Math had no existing presence there and no local team to run the process.
The Approach
Optiveum ran the Warsaw build-out end to end, working directly with Magma Math's product and engineering leadership from the first call:
- Sourced and technically screened senior developers matched to Magma Math's stack
- Set up compliant B2B and employment contracts for every hire
- Coordinated company registration and office setup in Warsaw
- Recruited a local accountant and lawyer to support ongoing operations
"Their talent network meant we had qualified candidates in front of us within two weeks of kickoff — and every hire since has stayed." — Mattias Hamberg, Head of Product, Magma Math
The Results
Since kicking off in August 2022, the Warsaw hub has grown into a core part of Magma Math's engineering organisation — and the engagement is still ongoing.
